If it weren’t for the Mirena removal theater procedure, I probably would have postponed my Brazilian wax appointment again. I’ve lived with ingrowns all my life and had become accustomed and comfortable with them (but being comfortable is not a good thing). A few weeks back I bullied a friend of mine to join me in getting homegirl (vagina), a thorough clean shave by getting a Hollywood/Brazilian wax. Now I did the research prior the appointment, but I just didn’t tell my dear friend, Philile, because I knew she would have changed her mind (… that was selfish). I promised her a sushi date after waxing, which I did keep my word. After that experience I knew razors, creams and scissors can kiss kuchie good bye since there’s a new girl in town!
Stigma…
To be quite honest there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having hair down there (it’s absolutely natural). You can keep your tush in the bush forever for all I care. The only reason I even shave is not for the other gender to be quite honest (men literally don’t do anything to prepare for us down stairs). I only shave because body precipitation is my thing. I sweat even on my nose. Living in the sunny, hot part of KZN, I remove hair as often as I can, almost every where. The second reason is old habits die hard. During my modeling years, bikini shoots and competitions were common, you wouldn’t want to wear a bikini bottom and have hair fly away’s seeping out the sides of your bikini line. Lastly I think homegirl is extremely cute with a new hair cut.
Why waxing?
Ever noticed how itchy it becomes when regrowth occurs. Ever had to come up with a stunt (either cover up with your handbang) just to pat homegirl and shut her up. Or maybe you just suffer from ingrowns? You might want to consider waxing as it eliminates all your worries. Regrowth is prolonged since unlike shaving, your hair follicle is pulled right from the root, eliminating skin irritation when hairs regrow. Hyperpigmentation! Yes waxing helps with reducing hyperpigmentation (dark/black skin areas) since the skin is not bruised or irritated when waxing unlike running a blade on kitty Kat.
So how does it go down?
I’m sure you now want to know what happens and most probably how painful is it? Am I right?... On arrival, due to the pandemic you will fill in a form and have your temperature tested. You will then be escorted to a private room where an esthetician will be performing the wax on you. You will be asked to remove your bottoms including panties. There will be intimate wipes to freshen up, use them! Clean your self up and discard in bin. In a bit your esthetician will come back, and ask you to relax. The esthetician will firstly use an alcohol wipe to clean the skin around the area she will be working on. Then comes the wax! At touch the wax will feel warm (hot If you have sensitive skin)and be in liquid form, however it cools down and hardens very quickly. Once it’s cool, in a flash, the esthetician will rip it off your skin. She will also immediately apply pressure to the area making the pain almost magically disappear.
Brazilian/Hollywood
What makes this particular wax different from your regular waxes is the areas they actually wax. The esthetician will start at the top part of your intimate area, the pelvic region. The second area will be where your homegirl starts parting, yes around the clitoral area, that will be waxed too (that’s the most painful area as it has longer hairs, and the location of the clit, meaning it’s super sensitive because of the nerve endings.) She will then move to the sides of your outer lips, easy and painless. Since this is the Brazilian/Hollywood wax, wherever there’s hair, hair shall be removed. Your esthetician will slightly open your outer labia to apply the wax in the inner parts of the labia, now because this part is internal, the wax will feel slightly hotter. You’ll get a tingly sensation as if the bath water is too hot ;). For me this is where I let out a loud scream that I ended with a laugh. It was hilariously painful if there’s such a thing. After waxing both labia’s, your esthetician should wax your perineum (this is the area between your vagina and anus). And lastly, your anal area. I did say, anywhere with hair, hair shall be removed. How painful is it? On a scale of 1-10 it was an 8. Yes it’s painful but very much so bearable, I swear. After the procedure everything is baby soft and so smooth, you even forget the pain you just went through!
Tips
Here are some guidelines to consider if you are keen on trying it…
Trim your hair prior the appointment, it will help in reducing the pain.
Bring a friend, it will make the experience very fun.
Wear comfortable underwear. Your skin will be sensitive you don’t want anything rubbing you the wrong way before or after waxing.
So ladies with summer around the corner and you want more bikini days. Get the tush out the bush and wax her up!
